On November 4, Consul General Li Weiwei and a delegation from the Consulate General of China in Da Nang visited VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park in Quang Ngai Province to meet with and learn about the operations of Chinese-invested enterprises in the area. As part of the visit, the delegation held a roundtable discussion with representatives of Chinese enterprises at MH Textile (Vietnam) Co., Ltd.

During the discussion, Consul General Li Weiwei extended her warm greetings and expressed her deep concern for Chinese enterprises investing and operating in Vietnam. She emphasized that Vietnam–China relations are currently at the best stage in their history. She also expressed her hope that Chinese enterprises in Vietnam would seize the opportunities of the times, further expand their presence in the Vietnamese market, and make positive contributions to the economic and trade development of both countries.

In addition, the Consul General delivered important guidance to the Chinese business community, emphasizing the need to ensure production safety, operate in compliance with applicable regulations, strictly observe Vietnamese laws, and actively promote and share Chinese culture. She also encouraged stronger exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese counterparts while maintaining clear principles and firmly preventing and eliminating any improper or unlawful transfer of benefits.

Representatives of the Chinese enterprises attending the discussion actively shared their experiences and practical insights into their investment, production, and business operations in Vietnam. They also outlined the challenges they are currently facing, as well as their development plans and future business directions.

On November 5, Consul General Li, together with a delegation from the Consulate General of China in Da Nang and representatives of the Quang Ngai business community, held a tripartite coordination meeting with relevant authorities of Quang Ngai Province.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Đieu, Member of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Quang Ngai Department of Foreign Affairs. Attendees included representatives from various provincial departments and agencies, namely the Department of Finance, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Home Affairs, Tax Department, Provincial Police, Customs Sub-Department, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, and the Management Board of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks, together with other relevant units.

At the meeting, Consul General Li highlighted China’s rapid development and emphasized that it was creating unprecedented opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China. She proposed that the Vietnamese side continue improving the investment and business environment for Chinese enterprises, supporting businesses in addressing difficulties related to recruitment and workforce management, and strengthening the management and supervision of production safety. She also expressed her hope for closer cooperation with the Quang Ngai provincial authorities in combating cross-border crimes, particularly telecommunications and online fraud.

Mr. Nguyen Van Đieu, Member of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, introduced the investment situation of Chinese enterprises in the province, local investment promotion policies, and the employment and residence status of Chinese citizens in Quang Ngai. He also provided an overview of the province’s investment incentives.

He expressed his appreciation to the Consulate General of China for organizing this meaningful and practical tripartite coordination meeting. He also welcomed more Chinese enterprises to consider Quang Ngai as an investment destination and expressed his hope that they would participate in and contribute to the province’s economic development.

Representing the Chinese business community, Mr. Bi Leijun (毕磊军) – Vice President of the Da Nang Chapter of the China Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, Executive President of the Jiangsu Enterprises Federation, and Chairman and General Manager of MH Textile (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. – introduced the company’s investment, production, and business operations in Vietnam.

On behalf of the business association, he also expressed the desire to gain a better understanding of Quang Ngai Province’s investment promotion policies, so that more member enterprises could be introduced to the province to explore investment opportunities, establish operations, and pursue further development.

At the same time, Mr. Bi Leijun shared the challenges that enterprises are facing in the course of their development, with particular emphasis on the current difficulties in labor recruitment. He called on provincial departments and agencies to give greater attention to this issue and implement practical solutions to help businesses address their workforce needs. He also proposed strengthening recruitment communications and information dissemination in neighboring areas, expanding outreach to attract more workers to join the industrial workforce.

Furthermore, he proposed that the Quang Ngai provincial authorities pay greater attention to and coordinate efforts to address the need for social housing for workers in areas surrounding industrial parks. Such measures would help attract workers from more distant localities and create favorable conditions for them to work and remain with enterprises over the long term.

At the meeting, representatives of Quang Ngai’s provincial departments and agencies also actively contributed their views, presented relevant policies, and discussed issues of concern to businesses. Key topics included labor recruitment, production safety, and legal compliance in business operations.

In closing, Consul General Li Weiwei expressed her hope that this meeting format would develop into a long-term coordination mechanism, with meetings held regularly and periodically in the future. She emphasized that Vietnam and China should work together to seize historic opportunities, strengthen cooperation, pursue common development, and move toward shared prosperity. She also wished for the everlasting friendship between Vietnam and China, and for the people of both countries to enjoy greater prosperity and increasingly better lives.

The meeting helped establish a more effective and convenient channel for communication and information exchange between Chinese-invested enterprises in Quang Ngai and the local government and relevant authorities. The event concluded successfully, achieving positive outcomes and opening up promising prospects for further cooperation in the future.
