MH TEXTILE (VIETNAM) TRADE UNION SUPPORTS UNDERPRIVILEGED WORKER – A SHINING EXAMPLE OF RESILIENCE IN DAILY LIFE

On August 1st, 2025, the Executive Committee of the Grassroots Trade Union of MH Textile Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) paid a visit to the family of Ms. Ho Thi Be, a weaving operator at the company’s weaving workshop, who has been dedicated to her role for over 3 years and 5 months.

Born in 1996, Ms. Be is a diligent and resilient worker. She is currently raising her 5-year-old child alone under extremely challenging circumstances. Not legally married and not accepted by her child’s paternal family, she and her child are now living with her biological father and stepmother—both elderly farmers with unstable incomes, struggling even to afford three meals a day. Ms. Be’s mother passed away many years ago. In addition to supporting her own child, Ms. Be is also helping care for her two younger siblings. The entire household depends solely on her modest worker’s salary.

Despite the mounting hardships, Ms. Be continues to persevere—raising her child, supporting her family, and never once wavering in her commitment to work. She currently rents a small room near the factory for convenience, has no personal vehicle, and relies on friends for daily transportation to work.

What struck us most during the visit was a sobering truth: there was not a single household item in her home worth even one million VND—a reality that is difficult to believe in this day and age, yet undeniably true.

Yet, in the face of adversity, Ms. Be remains optimistic, hard-working, and highly responsible. Her quiet strength and tireless spirit serve as a shining example of resilience and determination, earning the deep admiration of all her colleagues.

In the spirit of “The intact leaf shelters the torn one,” the company’s grassroots trade union extended support in the form of VND 4,000,000 in cash and VND 1,000,000 worth of essential goods to help alleviate some of her immediate burdens. In addition, the Weaving Workshop also contributed VND 1,000,000 from its monthly 5S reward fund, as a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and encouragement.

Seeing Ms. Be smile as she received these modest but meaningful gifts left a profound impression on everyone present. It was more than a simple donation—it was a reflection of the compassion and humanity deeply rooted in our workplace culture, where no one is left behind on their journey through life’s challenges.

At MH Textile, we believe that love and kindness begin with small acts—and from there, compassion will blossom wherever hearts are willing to share.
We wish Ms. Ho Thi Be continued strength, courage, and hope as she builds a better life for her child and family.
